Freebie Finds - Week of 1/1

Here's a list of some free items I found this week.  Hopefully I can add to it, but for now, it's pretty short.  But hey, free is free - right?

Walgreens:
I love Walgreens because there is usually no limit on how many items you can purchase that give you Register Rewards!

  • Muscletech Smart Protein Bars - $1.99 earn $2 RR back -- they actually are pretty yummy too!  Great breakfast stock up item.
  • Lichi Super Probiotic --$9.99 earn $10 RR
Target:
Remember - you can stack a Target coupon (found on their website) with a manufacturer coupon to double your savings!
  • 20 4x6 Digital Prints - on sale for $2.00 and use the $2.00 off 20 digital prints from the Target coupons to get your prints free!  However, this sale ends 1/7!
Okay, I'll do some more searching and hopefully add to this list later tonight!

On a great note - Michele and I have officially made a HUGE step in the start of our Mommy Savings blog!! Be on the lookout for updates soon!!

Happy Savings :)

An Apology to my High Heels

Before Cohen, you would rarely see me in a flat - ever.  Then, I got pregnant (and was large and in charge over the summer nonetheless) and my fat, swollen feet could no longer squeeze into my 5 inch peep toes comfortably after about 28 weeks.  So, I surrendered to the -duh, duh duh- flats.  Now, don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with flat shoes, but being barely 5'4, something inside of me always screamed for the extra height of heels.

(Please note the wear and tear on these puppies - I will forever cherish them.)

After Cohen was born, I didn't run back to those beloved peep toes.  I actually preferred flats to heels (gasp!!).  It has been 15 months since the birth of my son and while yes, I do wear heels occasionally to work,  I love my Ugg moccasins and flat brown boots I scored, with a coupon of course, super cheap at Target.  I know -- who knew?

(One word for these guys -- HEAVEN.)

This Christmas, I asked Santa Kurtis for a new pair of black boots that I could wear with tights, leggings or skinny jeans.  I sent him several pictures and still frames of myself posing in these perfect beauties.  But, like any man, the poor fella couldn't find the EXACT pair that I had carefully described on my Christmas list.  So when in doubt, hit up DSW of course!  And look at what he found:
At first, I was scared because there was a --- HEEL on them.  However, I put them on and have since worn them, which has only solidified my pre-pregnancy addiction to the high heel.  I must have forgotten that pure rush of happiness that took over my body as I clicked down the hallways of school.  I think I'm in love - again.  And my husband has scored some mad points not only for these bad boys, but for once again reminding me of the precious gems I had tossed aside in my closet.

Like Marilyn Monroe once said, "I don’t know who invented high heels, but all women owe him a lot."

High heels, I'm sorry I forgot about you.

Cheap Children's Sudafed PE at Walgreens

This week at Walgreens, they are having some really great deals on Children's medicine.  I was able to score some new infant Triaminic drops for $1 a piece!  Unfortunately, that coupon is no longer available but you can score some Children's Sudafed PE for super cheap as well!  The great thing about Walgreens is there is no limit as to how many Register Rewards you can earn, so you can do multiple transactions and earn multiple Register Rewards!  The normal store I shop at didn't have any of this product in stock, but I have a couple other Walgreens I will check out tomorrow.

The deal works like this:

Children's Sudafed PE on sale 2/$10 earning $5 RR with purchase of 2
  • Stack this deal with two (2) $2.00 off any Sudafed product coupons from Sudafed's website.
  • You'll pay $6.00 and earn yourself $5 RR - so essentially,  you will only pay .50 per medicine!
This is a great stock up price -- especially with the return of Cold and Flu season.  Let me know if you can find any in your stores.  I'll be on the lookout down here too!
Happy Savings! :)

Toothbrush Stockup - CVS Style

You can easily start your toothbrush stockpile by using this deal at CVS this week:

Oral-B Cross Action Toothbrush -- on sale $5.99
  • Stack the sale price with a $3.00 off coupon from the January P and G insert from this week.
  • PLUS you earn $2 EB with this purchase!
  • You'll pay .99 for this battery operation toothbrush!

The limit is 2 per household so you can do another transaction the same way as before but add your $2 EB from the first transaction and you'll make money on this one since you'll get back another $2 EB.  Then you can save those EB for next week's trip -- or another trip later this week for some other items. :)

Happy Savings! :)

Cheap Tide at Walgreens

This week Walgreen's has their smaller bottles of Tide on sale for $4.99.  They even have the Free and Clear kind, which is the kind I like to use on Cohen's clothes.  Better yet, if you combine it with the $2 coupon from this week's P and G ad, you can get your Tide for only $2.99!
Here's how it works:

Tide 18-32 load bottle -- on sale for $4.99
Stack a $2 off Tide coupon from January Proctor and Gamble insert.
Pay just $2.99 for the Tide!

This is a great price for Tide - especially if you are a Tide snob like I am!  I'll definitely be getting a few bottles for my stockpile!

Happy Savings! :)

CVS Trip 1/1 - BAM!

This week I scored HUGE for my stockpile!  I knew I had $8.99 in EB from last week to use this week so I started preparing early.  It was also a fabulous insert week in the paper (make sure you got yours -- some GREAT coupons) so I decided to splurge on buying three extra papers, which I've never done before.  However, as I was checking out, my fall spending Extra Bucks printed out and I scored an unexpected $9!  Woo hoo!  It was time to do some major free shopping!  So, I made out with this today...

But what's better is how much I spent on this stockpile heaven...$3.45.  Boo yeah!  But, guess what??
I earned $8 EB back so this trip was entirely FREE!! I saved over $61.00!!

Since I can't guarantee you this great deal, I will share some great ways you can save this week.

#1 - Nivea Lip Care
The deal works like this: Spend $10 total on Nivea products get $5 EB.
This is how you work it:
  • Nivea Lip Care is 2 for $5 this week, so you can purchase 4 different types of Nivea Lip Care to earn your EBs.
  • Top it off with two (2) $3 of any 2 Nivea Lip Care (from the Red Plum insert 1/1) and you'll actually make money.  You'll spend $4.00 and earn $5 EBs.
OR
  • Use one (1) $3.00 off coupon from Red Plum and print two (2) $1.00 off one Nivea Lip Care product from coupons.com.  This would make your purchase $5.00 earning you $5 EBs so this transaction would be totally FREE!
You can also start a great stockpile of toothpaste this week.  Here's how:

#2 Colgate Toothpaste
Colgate Toothpaste (Max or Advanced) is on sale for $2.74.
  • Top this with a .75 off any Colgate toothpaste coupon from the Smart Source 1/1 insert making your total $1.99.
  • PLUS you earn $1 EB back so you've paid .99 for the toothpaste.  The limit it two, so if you have 2 coupons, you can purchase 2 toothpastes for this price.
Now get out there and start saving -- trust me, once you start it is super hard to pay full price for products like these!

Happy Savings :)
